Boy-oh boy! Was that something or was that something!? 122,000 of you fantastic people flocked to Old Willunga Hill to cheer on the Professional Peloton and it was deafening. As the riders rode under the final kilometre banner, it was BMC's newest recruit Richie Porte who blew us all away. He put 18 seconds (yes, eighteen seconds) in the final one kilometre over the chasing bunch. However he needed 26 to be able to get his hands on the Ochre Jersey (it'll say 36 seconds, but he gets a 10 second time bonus for winning - see the rules if you need clarification), and so he fell agonisingly short. Australian Simon Gerrans claimed his fourth title and doing so, has cemented his place as an Australian cycling legend, alongside the likes of Cadel Evans and Phil Anderson.
Today's stage 6 is just the formalities, with the riders finishing with a criterium and a bunch sprint up King William Rd. Get down today, it's your last chance!
