2016 Tour Down Under - Stage 4

Stage 3 of the Tour Down Under was as exhilarating as we had wished it would be. The big name riders, like Gerrans, Porte, Dennis and Pozzovivo, all attacked and it was, for a brief moment, reminiscent of a certain race in France in July. After descending Corkscrew climb at an average speed of 104.9km p/h, it was three time champion Simon Gerrans who out sprinted defending champion Rohan Dennis to the line. It couldn't have been closer either, with the Victorian pipping hometown hero Dennis by a quarter of a wheel.

With the cobwebs now well and truly dusted off, a scenic coastal route is what lies ahead of the riders as they travel 138km's from Norwood to Victor Harbor. A stage like this one really does favour the brave, with the chances of a breakaway surviving very good. With that being said, a sprint finish is what the peloton will be favouring.
